Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Boys Swim Team hosted Carroll and Bishop Garrigan of Algona for a Dual meet Tuesday night at the Jefferey S. Olsen Memorial Pool in the Spencer Family YMCA.

Oliver Miller picked up Spencer’s first win of the night in the 500y Freestyle, with a time of 5:16.73.

Owen Van Otterloo won the 100y Breaststroke with a time of 1:08.22.

Spencer’s 400y Freestyle Relay claimed a win, with a team made up of Tyson Fear, Ray Kaiser, Oliver Miller, and Ethan Hass swimming 3:47.25.

In the Team scores, Carroll used a strong last 4 events to come from behind and beat Spencer 50-44 while routing Bishop Garrigan 69-24. Spencer beat Bishop Garrigan 70-20.

Spencer coach Jesse Kuehler said Spencer had a good start but couldn’t maintain it in order to get the sweep.

Landon Tate was happy with some of the time cut over the evening.

Spencer has faced Carroll twice this season, winning in their home invite and now losing in a dual setting. Caleb Duhn hopes Spencer can take the next meeting in Carroll.

Spencer prepares for some strong competition in Marshalltown this weekend for a Relay Meet. Oliver Miller hopes that will push him to some new bests.

Coach Kuehler is happy with how Spencer has started the year.
