Storm Lake, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — On Tuesday, December 10th around 8:30 pm, Storm Lake Police responded to a report of a theft of a bicycle from a residence in the 700 Block of Grand Avenue in Storm Lake.

Shortly after, police received more reports of burglaries in a garage and residence in the 600 Block of Vestal Street and 800 Block of West 6th Streets. Officers reviewed video surveillance and found physical evidence from the burglary scenes. A brief time later the suspect was seen riding the bicycle in the area, and police found property from one of the burglaries.

Lealand Phillips, 27, of Storm Lake was arrested and taken into custody without incident and is in the Buena Vista County Jail charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, a class C felony…two counts of 3rd Degree Burglary, a class D felony, Theft in the 3rd degree, an aggravated misdemeanor, as well as possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication.

Phillips is being held in the BV County jail on a $23,900 bond.
