Sheldon, IA (KICD)– Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon will officially open its new Health Science building with a ribbon cutting and open house on Thursday.
Leah Murphy, the Dean of Arts and Sciences/ Business and Health, tells KICD News this project dates make nearly half a decade when the school had to ask local voters for funding.
Murphy says this new structure will be able to serve students in a number of different lines of work to build experience in a setting similar to what they may see after graduation.
As with any industry, the health and science fields are constantly changing and using new technology. Murphy notes this project took that into account.
The ribbon cutting for the Northwest Iowa Community College Health Science building will be Thursday at 9:30 followed by comments from school and city representatives. Public tours and simulation will also be available ten to noon.
