Spencer, IA (Northwestiowa.com) — If you think the Christmas lights adorning Grand Avenue in Spencer are brighter than ever – you’re right.
Mayor Steve Bomgaars says the festive candy canes and other iconic figures are brand new decorations with L.E.D. technology.

 

Bomgaars tells Northwestiowanow.com the project had already been approved, but purchasing new lights kept getting delayed.

The city of Spencer donated the old decorations to the city of Sioux Rapids – which lost its lights in the flood. Bomgaars says there are more free lights for any city that wants to come get them.
