Lakefield, MN (Northwestiowanow.com) — Phase two of the Hi-Lo Supper Club in Lakefield is done. Jim and Teressa Hussong reopened the establishment in December of 2022 after a major renovation in the restaurant, and this week take the wraps off the new bar and dance floor downstairs.
Hussong tells Northwestiowanow.com the inspiration for the basement are legendary nightclubs like The Copa-Cabana and The Latin Quarter.
Although most of what you’ll see is new construction, contractors were able to save a few unique architectural items.
Hussong’s family owns the Kozy Heat Fireplace plant in Lakefield. He was eyeing retirement five years ago but instead bought the restaurant downtown – now called Dudley’s Garage – in 2021, and the Hilo club in 2022 to help the community remain vibrant. And he says he’s having the time of his life.
