Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– The Buena Vista County Board of Supervisors reverted back to discussion on Tuesday to determine the future of the former Colorize building north of courthouse in Storm Lake.

The county originally purchased the building last year with original plans of moving the Auditor’s Office and election operations to that site, but then decided to sell the building a few months later when no final plan could be settled on.

Tuesday’s conversation revolved around whether or not the building should stay under county control with Supervisors Kathy Croker saying she would like to at least try putting it up for sale and see if entities are interested.

The main kink in the chain so-to-speak during the discussion involved which department would ultimately move the short distance away and how it would affect taxpayers trying to do routine business with Supervisor Paul Mertens noting there would be some extra travel involved in a number of cases.

After nearly an hour of additional discussion a motion was accepted on a four to one vote to keep the building and continue working on what will fill it.
