Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls and Boys Basketball teams hosted Denison-Schleswig Friday night at the Fieldhouse.
The Spencer Girls used a strong first half to pick up their 4th win of the season, 51-28.
Sydnee Hopkins led the Tigers with 14. Braylee Haldin was also in double-digits for Spencer with 10.
Denison-Schleswig was led by Ann Wessel’s 10.
Spencer improves to 4-5 on the year while Denison-Schleswig drops to 1-6 on the season.
The Spencer Boys dominated from wire to wire in a 65-26 drubbing of the Monarchs.
Three Tigers scored in double digits, led by Foster Roos’s 16. Cael Bruning scored 15 and Ethan Hansen had 11.
Roman Bygness paced the Monarchs with 9.
Spencer has now strung together 6 in a row to improve to 6-1 while Denison-Schleswig drops to 0-6.
Denison-Schleswig will be back at home on Tuesday against Red Oak in Hawkeye 10 Conference play.
The Spencer Tigers are back in action on Tuesday as well when they travel to Mason City to play the Riverhawks.
