Graettinger, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – On Big Country 107.7 Friday night, GTRA hosted Sioux Central for a Girls/Boys Varsity doubleheader.

In the Girls contest, Sioux Central jumped out to a 17-10 lead in a high scoring 1st quarter. The Titans would widdle the lead down to 6 going into the half, with the Rebels up 32-26. GTRA would get the score back within 2 going into the 4th quarter after outscoring Sioux Central in that frame 17-13. It was all Rebels in the 4th quarter though as Sioux Central outscored the Titans 23-8 in the final 8 minutes to end the game in a 68-51 score.

Avery Wilson dominated for Sioux Central, scoring 30 on the evening.

GTRA was led by Addison Hansen’s 18.

Sioux Central is now 6-3 on the season while GTRA drops to 3-6.

For the Boys contest, it was a closely contested battle that saw a tied at 13 score after the first 8 minutes. Sioux Central had a 30-26 edge at the end of the 1st half. The Rebels would extend that lead to 8 going into the 4th quarter and held on to win 58-52.

Sioux Central’s Owen Mills scored 25 on the night and was aided nicely by Jack Christian’s 18.

It was Teagan Hanson and Kasey Hough each scoring 15 for the Titans. Landon Deitrich was also in double figures with 11.

Sioux Central is now 5-2 on the year with the win while the loss sets GTRA back to 3-5.

Next up for Sioux Central is a home game against Ridge View on Tuesday while GTRA visits North Iowa on Thursday.
