Arnolds Park, IA (KICD)– Organizers for Walleye Weekend are putting on the final touches just days ahead of the first major event for the summer in the Iowa Great Lakes Area.

Kiley Zankowski is the Program Director for the Okoboji Chamber of Commerce. She says several thousand people are expected on the water starting Saturday.

Zankowski says submitted registrations so far come from well beyond the local area.

Those wanting to register for Walleye Weekend, the extended contest or the largest Walleye contest have until 11:59 Friday night to do so at okobojichamber.com.
