Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The first babies of the new year arrived in quick succession at Spencer Hospital. Rebecca Peters is the Director of Communications.

The first girl arrived at the Birth Center on January 6th. Peters says there were 213 babies born in Spencer in calendar year 2024, with names ranging from A to Z.

Eight physicians are equipped to deliver babies at Spencer Hospital. With advancements in medicine, they were able to deliver 21 of those babies naturally after the mothers had previously had C-sections.
