Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Lee Schoenewe was honored at the Clay County Board of Supervisors Meeting on Tuesday, January 7th for his 30 years of service to Clay County Conservation. He is retiring after serving as Board President for many years, and launching improvements and upgrades to parks around Clay County.

Schoenewe is credited with modernizing Scharnburg Park, and developing Oneota Park, including initiating the Enivronment Learning Center, which should be ready this year for youth learning events.
Schoenewe is a native of Everly.
