Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– A Larrabee man is in custody after allegedly fleeing from police during a traffic stop earlier this week in Buena Vista County.
An officer with the Storm Lake Police Department initiated the stop around 11:45 Tuesday evening but 46-year-old Timothy Connor reportedly failed to yield and accelerated leading to a pursuit reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour which led to police terminating the chase just outside city limits.
The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office was later notified of a single vehicle crash a short distance away with the vehicle matching the description of the one driven by Connor who had fled on foot prior to arrival of emergency crews.
Connor was located by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office the following day and was brought back to Buena Vista County charged with eluding, driving while revoked, driving while suspended, careless driving, speeding and failing to a obey a stop sign. He remains in custody without bond.
