Ringsted, IA (KICD)– The driver of an Emmet County school bus has been cited following a crash last week that injured two students.
Sheriff Mike Martens tells KICD News the Emmet County Communications Center received a call saying a bus had collided with the semi around 4:20 last Tuesday afternoon about five miles west of Ringsted.
Once on scene, crews were able to determine the bus owned the North Union School District had entered the path of a southbound tractor-trailer causing the two to collide and the bus to overturn.
Two children on board, a four and five year old, were taken to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherille for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries.
The bus driver, 43-year-old Travis Schueller of Armstrong, was cited for failing to obey a stop sign and yield right of way.
