Spencer, IA (KICD)– Local entities from within the City of Spencer and Clay County are preparing to launch an emergency housing program to help curb homelessness.
Rebecca Goeken from Clay County General Relief tells KICD News the primary role of the Emergency Housing Coordinator will be to help those experiencing homelessness in Clay County not only find somewhere to go but also help with other aspects that may have led to the original situation.
The current plan is to bring on two part-time individuals that will split the duties of Emergency Housing Coordinator.
Resumes for the position are being accepted by General Relief through June 1st plans to formally launch the program at the start of the new fiscal year in July.
