Spencer, Iowa — If you have a flood story to share, Arts On Grand would like to hear it. Together with volunteer Susan Christensen, they are gathering stories from the June 2024 floods that devastated the Spencer and Sioux Rapids communities. Christensen tells Northwest Iowa Now.com how the book idea came about.
Christensen is hearing incredible stories and helping write them and also learning about even more Clay County history. Christensen encourages non-profits, churches and businesses to share their stories, as well.
If you have a personal story, or know someone who might need help writing their story, Christensen says there is plenty of help to get that done.
The deadline is February 15th, and they hope to have the book edited and ready to sell either by the flood anniversary on June 22, or by the start of the Clay County Fair.
