Spencer, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — This weekend an older male subject was reported missing to the Clay County Communications Center. Around 10:15 Sunday night on 2400 Mile of Highway 18. The report said the male had walked out of the house and could not be located. Due to the cold weather, Clay County Deputies required additional help, including Spencer Police, Spencer Fire, Dickens Fire and Spencer Ambulance. After a 2 1/2-hour search, the subject was located 2 miles away uninjured. Temperatures were below zero during the search, and the subject was transported to the hospital for observation.

During the search, agencies involved used side by sides, a drone, and thermal imagers.
