Spencer, IA (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Iowa has one of the fasted growing cancer rates in the country, and this Friday, February 21, Iowa lawmakers will be at the Clay County Events Center for a listening session. This is an opportunity for farmers, rural residents, and community members to share their personal experiences with cancer and the impact on their lives.
Lawmakers from both parties will be present to listen and have a discussion about Iowa’s rising cancer rates. Dr/ David Keith, medical director for Clay County Public Health will be joined by Representatives Megan Jones (R) and Megan Srinivas. Other listening sessions are planned throughout the state as well, and will continue to discuss potential causes, voice concerns, and explore possible solutions. Iowa Farmers Union is the sponsor.
