Storm Lake, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Storm Lake Fire Chief Glenn Schlesser has the respect of his fellow members of the Iowa Society of Fire Service. Northwest Iowa Now asked Chief Schlesser about receiving this award.

 

Schlesser has led the Storm Lake Fire Department since 2021 and has 15 years’ experience in teaching multiple firefighter and fire officer training programs across the state. Now during his time in Storm Lake, Schlesser has implemented a Regional Fire School.

The Instructor of the Year award is named for Floyd W. Nelson, a groundbreaking researcher in the fire science with Iowa State University, and one of the founders of the Society of FIre Service Instructors in 1964.
