Manson, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office reports two deceased subjects were discovered inside a rural Manson home on Monday, March 10. Upon receiving the report at 8:27 am, the Sheriff’s Office responding 32351 590th Street, deputies confirm two bodies were inside, and identified as Lynnette Walstrom, 61 and Jeremy Schuttler, 52, both of rural Manson.
The Palmer Fire Department arrived in test for presence of carbon monoxide and found nothing.
After further investigation revealed various drug related items in the home, and after preliminary tests, officials confirm the presence of fentanyl among those items.
At this time the deaths are believed to be drug-related, although autopsies will be performed by the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office. No foul play is suspected at this time.
The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Gilmore City First Responders, Palmer First Responders, Palmer Fire Department, Pocahontas Ambulance, Gunderson Funeral Home and the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s office.
