Lake Park, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — The Harris Lake Park School Board has awarded contracts in two additional projects after last year’s successful bond issue.
Superintendent Gary Richardson says there was a lot of interest from contractors.
The high bid on the bus barn came in at 1 million 259 thousand dollars and the high bid on lights and sound system at the auditorium was 394 thousand dollars.
Richardson tells Northwestiowanow.com HLP still anticipates moving into the new elementary school one year from now.
Residents of the Harris Lake Park school district approved an 18.6 million dollar bond issue last fall. Bids for construction of the new elementary came in low enough to leave the extra funds for the bus barn and auditorium update.
