OKOBOJI, IOWA (Northwestiowanow.com) – Several projects are currently underway at the Sherwood Forrest in Dickinson County.

In an interview with Community Relations Coordinator for Dickinson County, Amy Heibult, it was announced that the Natural Resource Department recently completed frost seeding, spreading native seeds just before a blizzard. Frost seeding helps native plants grow, enhancing the park’s ecosystem and providing a better habitat for local wildlife.

Despite the challenges from this winter, concrete work for new pathways and structures is moving forward. Additionally, a new bathroom facility is under construction, which will be a valuable addition for park visitors. Progressing at a steady pace, the project should be completed soon.

Further updates will be provided as the project progresses.
