Spencer, IA (KICD)– Monday kicks off Certified Hand Therapy Week in the medical community.
Karin Hogge is a Certified Hand Therapist at Spencer Hospital. She says this specialized health area is not one of the easiest to get certified in.
Hogge says Certified Hand Therapists treat a number of different injuries involving the fingers, hands, wrists, forearms, elbows and even shoulders with one of the more common being arthritis.
A referral is needed in order to see a hand therapist, so those thinking they need such services should contact their regular physician.
