Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Ramsey County, Minnesota Medical Examiner’s office says a 4-year-old Spencer boy trapped in a burning house Friday has passed away. Attempts by bystanders to reach Todd Watson at 101 DeLoss Court were unsuccessful due to the extreme heat and smoke. Spencer firefighters were able to knock down the flames enough to enter the home and get him out. He was taken to Spencer Hospital and airlifted to Gillette Children’s Hospital in St. Paul. A fund for the family has been established at Farmer’s Trust and Savings Bank in Spencer. The State Fire Marshal’s Office was on the scene to investigate a possible cause. We have not yet received the results of that investigation.
