Jackson, MN (northwestiowanow.com) — Five sheriff departments from Minnesota, including the Jackson County Sheriff’s office, have pledged to collaborate with ICE agents in apprehending undocumented immigrants. They will assist in identifying and, in some cases, detaining individuals who are in the country without legal authorization.
This follows an executive order signed by President Donald Trump, which provides local and state agencies with various options to support ICE operations.
The Obama administration ended the task force program in 2012, but President Donald Trump reopened the program this year.
