Storm Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) – On April 15, 2025, at approximately 4:00 AM, the Storm Lake Police Department responded to a distress call in the 200 Block of West Milwaukee Avenue. The caller, identified as Philavanh Satibanjong, 52, of Storm Lake, reported that someone was attempting to harm them.

Upon arrival, officers located Satibanjong, who immediately became aggressive, swinging at the officer multiple times with a closed fist and attempting to grab items from the officer’s duty belt. The officer managed to subdue Satibanjong and take him into custody without any reported injuries.

Satibanjong has been charged with several offenses, including assault on an officer with intent to inflict injury, removal of an officer’s communication or control device, and interference with official acts.
