Lakefield, MN (Northwestiowanow.com) — Lightening is the suspected cause of a fire at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 604 Bush Street in Lakefield, Minnesota. Fire Chief Tim Baumann says they were called five minutes after a bright light and loud crack of thunder was observed in town around 3:45 Monday afternoon. When they arrived smoke was emanating from the roof in multiple locations. They attempted to do as little damage to the building as possible but had to open up the roof and pull down insulation. The Jackson Fire Department was called for assistance. Fire crews were on the scene for about two hours.
