Le Mars, IA (KICD)– There are now only two counties in Iowa that have yet to confirm the presence of the Emerald Ash Borer, both of which are in the local area.
The count dropped to two last week when the Iowa Department of Agriculture confirmed the wood-boring insect was found for the first time in Plymouth County when a tree service found evidence of an infestation in Remsen.
The finding leaves just Emmet and Palo Alto Counties without the invasive beetle 13 years after it was first discovered in Iowa in Allamakee County.
