Storm Lake, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — Devastating winds recently swept through Storm Lake, leaving a path of downed trees and damaged property. But amidst the debris, recovery efforts are well underway, thanks in part to the volunteers of GoServ Global.
Barb Meister with GoServ says the damage in Storm Lake on April 18th appears like it hop-scotched across town – significant tree damage, with some structures like mobile homes losing roofs. Thankfully, most houses were spared major destruction. GoServ teams are now tackling remaining tasks, like removing damaged trailers and a garage, while keeping an eye on potential incoming weather.
This isn’t GoServ’s first time helping Iowa communities recover; they assisted Spencer after last year’s flooding and have recently worked in places like Minden and Greenfield. The organization runs entirely on volunteers and donations. As cleanup continues in Storm Lake, GoServ Global stands as an example of neighbors helping neighbors rebuild.
