Milford, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Representatives from the Alcohol and Tax Compliance Division of the Iowa Department of Revenue will hold informational meetings today for vendors who intend to sell alcohol during RAGBRAI in Estherville or Milford this summer. They’ll be at the community meeting room in Milford between 2 and 4, and at the Estherville Utility Office from 6 until 8pm.
The Milford RAGBRAI committee is asking potential vendors to contact them as soon as possible to fill an application and to let them know what your electrical needs will be. The plan is to headquarter the food and entertainment downtown – on Highway 71 if the DOT allows. Milford RAGBRAI Chair Gillian Anderson says RAGBRAI recommends vendors prepare about 600 meals, keep it simple, and to plan for a rush between 4 and 8pm. They also say pickles and bananas sell well along the route – but do not sell in overnight communities where the bikers are ready to have a meal.
