Des Moines, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — There are two, new, recognizable candidates for Governor. Rob Sand is the only Democrat currently holding state office in Iowa. The State Auditor announced his candidacy yesterday and has an invitation only campaign event here in the broadcast area Tuesday – where we have been promised a one-on-one interview.
And it appears Congressman – Randy Feenstra – would prefer Terrace Hill to Washington DC. The two-term Republican from Hull served in the state senate before challenging sitting Congressman Steve King and winning the nomination in the 2020 election cycle. While not making a formal announcement, Feenstra filed paperwork yesterday that allows him to start raising money for a campaign.
