SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow) – Clay County officials have expanded the road closures along N14 (310th Avenue) due to ongoing construction and safety concerns.

As of 4:00 PM Tuesday, June 17, both the 4200 block (south 1/4 mile) and the 4300 block (north 3/4 mile) are closed to all public traffic. Emergency vehicles may still access these areas using the ditch bottom or the road shoulder. All other vehicles must park at the nearest gravel intersection and continue using an ATV or UTV.

The 4400 through 4700 blocks, along with the southern 1/4 mile of the 4300 block, remain accessible to landowners and emergency vehicles. Entry to these areas is available from gravel intersections or from the south via B63. Meanwhile, the 3600 to 4200 block, which runs from Highway 18 South to B53, has a milled surface and remains open to landowners and emergency vehicles under normal access conditions.

Officials are urging the public to avoid the area unless absolutely necessary and to follow all posted access guidelines. Unauthorized vehicles may be subject to fines or removal. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through updates from the Clay County Roads Department and local emergency management channels.
