Estherville, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Two people made it out of a burning house in Estherville Monday afternoon. One of them was transported to the hospital for cuts he received exiting the structure through a window.
Fire Chief Travis Sheridan says his department was dispatched to 1120 North 10th Street around 3:40. The two people were already out and a fire in a living room was extinguished in about 10 minutes. There were both electrical cords and smoking material in the area where the fire appears to have started.
The fire department was assisted at the scene by Estherville Police, the Emmet County Sheriff’s Department, and Estherville Ambulance.
The Emmet County Assessor’s website lists the owner of the property as Joshua Haburn.
