Northwest Iowa (KICD)– We are starting to get a better idea of some of the damage caused by the multiple rounds of severe weather over parts of the area on Saturday.

Information submitted to the National Weather Service on Tuesday indicates there was straight-line wind damage in Osceola County from the first round of storms with a grain silo northwest of Ashton reportedly being tipped over along with part of a barn’s roof being ripped off.

Later that night, with the second round of severe weather, Buena Vista County Emergency Management says a patrol vehicle belonging to the Sheriff’s Office was hit by quarter size hail near Truesdale while the home of another deputy was also damaged around ten o’clock. A power pole was also found leaning in the same area just south of Highway 3 with at least part of nearby corn field being flattened.

All of this goes along wtih the damage caused by hail to up three inches in diameter that fell in Emmetsburg and surrounding areas of Palo Alto County.
