Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– Three people have been charged following a weekend traffic stop in Storm Lake.
An officer with the Storm Lake Police Department initiated that stop around ten o’clock Saturday night for a traffic violation with a K-9 unit then indicating the probable presence of illegal substances.
A subsequent search allegedly revealed open containers of alcohol, controlled substances and a loaded firearm that was later found to have been stolen in a Hamilton County burglary.
These discoveries led to 18-year-old David Washington of Chicago being charged with trafficking a stolen weapon, possession of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms, possession of stolen property and illegally carrying a dangerous weapon.
Also charged was 19-year-old Olivia Reis of Fonda after she was reportedly found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia while 20-year-old Katy Unger was cited for possessing alcohol as a minor.
