Spencer, IA (KICD)– Road conditions are believed to have played a role in a single vehicle crash along Lost Island Lake on Friday afternoon that sent one person to the hospital.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 3300 mile of 340th Avenue around 1:15 where a vehicle driven by 57-year-old Inga Hoffman of Milford was found to have lost traction while navigating a curve due to snow and slush on the road. The vehicle is said to have left the road and entered a nearby yard resulting in totaling damage.

A passenger is believed to have sustained a back injury in the incident and was taken to Spencer Hospital for treatment.
