Spencer, IA (KICD)– One person sustained minor injuries in a Friday afternoon crash on the northern edge of Spencer.
A report from the Iowa State Patrol notes a semi tractor pulling a tanker trailer, operated by 47-year-old Michael Limoges, was eastbound on at the junction of Highways 18 and 71 around one o’clock when he reportedly entered the path of a southbound SUV thinking it was an intersection with a four-way stop.
Limoges was not hurt. The driver of the SUV, 29-year-old Margaret Sondag of Red Oak, was taken to Spencer Hospital with minor injuries. Authorities say her life was likely saved because of the use of a seatbelt and airbag deployment.
