(SPENCER) – The Spencer Community School District is celebrating a strong showing on the newly released 2024-25 Iowa School Performance Profiles.  Spencer High School and Spencer Middle School both earned a “Commendable” rating and Lincoln Elementary,Fairview Park Elementary, Johnson Elementary, each received an “Acceptable” rating, which is an improvement from last year’s “needs improvement.”  In addition, Spencer Schools were taken off the designated list for Special Education due to improvements in student academic proficiency and attendance.

A key highlight for the district is Post-Secondary Readiness, where Spencer students are attaining college credit at a rate of 70.03%, which is above the state average of 61%.

The Iowa School Performance Profiles rate schools using core indicators that include proficiency in English, math, and science, as well as student academic growth and attendance. Hemann says the results will be viewable on the school’s website and social media.
