Spencer, Ia (northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls Swim team hosted their first dual of the season Tuesday night at the Jefferey S Olson Memorial pool in the Spencer Family YMCA with Algona coming to town.
Anna Quanbeck took the win in the 200 yard Free with a time of 2:21.35.
Halle Sears was 1st in the 200 Yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:13.94.
In the 100 Yard Fly, Tensley Cronin of Spencer picked up the win with a time of 1:16.56.
Aubrey McFarland of Spencer led a top 3 sweep of Tigers with a time of 58.61 in the 100 Yard Free.
Halle Sears was top of a 500 Free that also saw Spencer take the top 3 spots with a time of 58.61. Ava Vogt was 2nd in that race at 1:02.35. Vogt talked about some of the things she’s been working on to knock her time down farther.
Anna Quanbeck was 3rd in that 500 yard Free at 6:31.55. All of those top 3 for Spencer came back to swim in the 200 Yard Free Relay. Spencer’s ream of Maisy Schmidt, Vogt, McFarland, and Sears won with a time of 1:50.16.
McFarland was 1st in the 100 yard Backstroke with a time of 1:07.31.
Spencer’s 400 Yard Free team of Sears, McFarland, Vogt, and Schmidt won with a time of 4:08.41.
Sears was trying out some new events on Tuesday.
Halle Brown has gotten in to the 500y Free this year, probably the most unique event to train for because of it’s distance for Swimmers. Brown has been happy with her progress.
Spencer picked up the win 120 to 49 over Algona.
