Primghar, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — A Primghar man who told deputies he was “initiating the neighborhood watch party” ended up in jail Wednesday morning.

According to reports, The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Matthew Chindlund around 6:30 a.m. Authorities say Chindlund was playing loud music from his open garage and was walking into Third Street, a major road in Primghar, using a flashlight to stop vehicles.

Chindlund allegedgly said he wanted the public to call law enforcement.

When deputies arrived, they found him in possession of methamphetamine, a THC vaping pen, and prescription medications. Chindlund now faces several charges, including disorderly conduct and third-offense charges for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.
