Lincoln, NE (KICD)– There appears to be a bit of plateau when it comes to major change in drought conditions across Iowa in the last week.

The latest Drought Monitor released by the USDA on Thursday shows no improvement in conditions with all 99 counties remaining at least abnormally dry.

There was some change, however, in the amount area in at least a D1 Moderate Drought with that number growing to 83 percent of Iowa compared to 78 percent last week.

A slight increase was also seen in the Severe and Extreme Drought categories with both growing less than one percent week over week.

Locally, the closest change is an area of Abnormally Dry from Eastern Kossuth County through North Central Iowa going to a Moderate Drought.
