West Okoboji, IA (KICD)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors agreed support a grant application that would help fund a project being pursued by the City of West Okoboji.

Steve Hallgren is assisting the city from the grant aspect. He told the board the proposed project will include a number of improvements to what he calls one of the more popular beaches in the region.

Hallgren adds this project will only enhance the area and help draw more tourism to the entire Iowa Great Lakes.

The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to support the project and pledge ten thousand dollars in hopes the state grant comes through to assist with the total project that is estimated to cost around two million dollars.
