Dickinson County Election Results — (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Mayor’s position in Milford had to be filled by write-in. Bob Clark – who retired as the city’s police chief in 2022 was persuaded to mount a last-minute campaign and won with 219 votes.
Incumbent Mayor Steve Anderson – who has been trying to give up the position for two terms also received 66 write-in votes.
There were three open seats on the Milford city council and only two candidates on the ballot. Incumbent Chris Hinshaw received 292 votes. McIntyre Arndt got 213. And the third position will be filled by Jantina Carney who got 126 write-ins.
The two incumbents were returned to the Spirit Lake city council. Angela Kofoot got 252 votes and John Chappas 209. Mike Hemiller received 202.
There were four candidates for three seats in Okoboji. Julie Mau Andres was the top vote-getter with 140, the other three were each separated by one vote. Incumbent Dan Sanders 107, Kae Hoppe 106, and Thomas Bjornstad 105.
In the crowded race for three Lake Park City Council seats incumbent Joseph Sohn received 242 votes, Jason Jacobson 239, and Nathan Judd 218. The other four candidates in order of their vote totals were Jaret Byers, Jack Bradshaw, Jeffrey Nechkash., and Josh McClain.
In Arnolds Park there were two seats: Jamie Smith received 97 and Incumbent Matt Richter got 94. Incumbent Mitch Watters received 84, Brian Wrightsman 83, and Jeremy Lueck 76.
In Orleans Incumbent Ben Radcliffe retained his seat with 75 votes and Denda Evans won a spot with 69. The other two candidates were Gary Kilpatrick with 64 and Incumbent Stan Gable with 58.
Austin Fairchild won the contest At-Large council seat in Terril with 57 votes. Jeri Nissen received 49 and Jerry Kirchner got 18.
In Wahpeton Merlyn Kruger, Lois Benson, and Harold Prior were elected to the council.
In West Okoboji incumbents Mike Paxton and Darlene Powers were returned.
And Breann Allen appears to have won the council seat in Superior by two votes.
