Wallingford, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A rural building near Wallingford was destroyed by fire Friday morning. A motorist called in the report around 6am. The structure at 76 Highway 4 South was fully engulfed when the fire department arrived and Estherville was called in for backup.

Firefighters set up hose lines attacked to their portable tank and tanker truck and were on the scene for about two hours.
In addition to the building the owner estimates the value of tools and contest were about 10 thousand dollars.  Fire Chief Jarrod Fischer says there is no official cause yet, but it might be a wood-burning stove.
