Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Spencer Fire Department was called to a strip mall Sunday afternoon after multiple people thought they smelled gas.
Chief Jesse Coulsen tells KICD News they were dispatched around 3:30 to 700 West 11th Street Southwest – the building where TJ Maxx and Monterrey Mexican restaurant are located – around 3:30pm.

The Dickens Fire Department was called for backup and employees from Black Hill Energy also showed up.

No hazardous conditions were found.
