SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow) — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reports multiple winter-related incidents over Thanksgiving weekend as severe weather impacted the area.

Sheriff Chris Raveling says between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning, deputies assisted six motorists, issued 39 snow parking citations, and responded to three vehicles stuck in the ditch. The National Weather Service reported Spencer received around nine inches of snow during the holiday storm.

Raveling reminds drivers to use caution and follow posted parking restrictions during winter weather events.
