Spencer, IA (KICD)– The Spencer Public Library is working on the next steps to upgrade accessibility made possible through a grant received earlier this year.
Director Sarah Beth Fuchsen-Redwing tells KICD New a group of community members, mostly those with a disability, were given the opportunity to have their voices heard this week on what kind of changes need to be made. The most common denominator is a more accessible set of restrooms.
Fuchsen-Redwing the staff was also given some direct feedback on how the current layout works from a patron with limited mobility.
The next steps to making use of the ten thousand dollar grant comes down to make final decisions on what upgrades can be made before then finding a contractor to complete the work.
