Hartley, IA (Radio Iowa)– It looks as though it is going to get hot for the weekend into a large portion of next week across much of the region that will most likely not be uncomfortable for humans and animals but could potentially pose a problem for corn producers.

Dave Rossman farms in the Hartley area. He says this year has been a mixed bag of conditions that as of late have been very dry and while recent rains have helped, he does worry about heat and wind.

Rossman says those breezy conditions could offset some of the humidity that is beneficial to crops.

The most recent crop report shows both corn and soybeans reated 58 percent good to excelletn wtih one third falling to the fair category.
