Rock Rapids, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Official arrest warrants have now been issued for two individuals suspected in the break-in and vandalism in the Lyon County courthouse in Rock Rapids earlier this week.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department says they are working with out-of-state authorities including the FBI and national warrants have been issued for 39-year-old Brandon Lyle High Pipe and 18-year-old Luciano Eliseo Sanchez. The two might be residents of South Dakota with the South Dakota DCI and State Patrol, Sioux Falls Police, and multiple county sheriff’s departments assisting.
Investigators say no employees were in the courthouse when the two allegedly broke in late Tuesday or early Wednesday and caused a significant amount of damage.
The warrants are for: Third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief; willful disturbance; conspiracy to commit a non-forcible felony; and reckless use of fire, explosives, or a destructive device.
Authorities say surveillance video has assisted the investigation.
