Emmetsburg, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Vice-President for Corporate Affairs at POET Biorefining says the facility that produced ethanol from cornstalks for a short time is still being used as a laboratory. Doug Berven spoke to KICD Farm News at Trade Talk in Kansas City.

Berven announced that Sioux Falls-based POET recently acquired its 35th production facility in Obion, Tennessee, bringing its annual capacity to 3 BILLION gallons.

POET’S main focus now is lobbying Congress to allow gasoline mixed with 15 percent ethanol to be sold nationwide. Currently it’s only 10 percent.
