Algona, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Boys Swim team came out of Christmas break with a nice get-back dual against Bishop Garrigan of Algona.
The Spencer team of Ray Keiser, Owen Van Otterloo, Mason Yost, and Ethan Hass started off the evening with a 1st place time of 1:46.26 in the 200y Medley Relay.
Oliver Miller followed that up with a 1st place finish in the 200y Free, clocking 1:56.5.
Ray Keiser took the 200y Individual Medley with a time of 2:18.76.
The 50y Free went to Ethan Hass, who clocked 24.73 seconds. Hass had a strong evening for the Tigers.
Mason Yost would win the 100y Fly for Spencer with a time of 59.53 seconds. Yost talked about what it will take for the Tigers to reach their potential in 2026.
Owen Van Otterloo claimed the win in the 100y Free with a time of 52.28 seconds. Van Otterloo layed out his goals for 2026.
Mathias Lewallen won in the 500y Free with a time of 6:46.19.
The Spencer team of Kaiser, Weston, Van Otterloo, and Hass combined for a time of 1:37.86 in the 200y Free Relay.
In the 100y Backstroke, Ray Kaiser won with a time of 59.37 seconds.
Van Otterloo took another individual win in the 100y Breast with a time of 1:02.2.
Spencer’s team of Hass, Miller, Weston and Yost capped off the evening with a time of 3:56.9, winning the race and completeing a sweep of all the Varsity events for the Tigers. Weston likes where the team is at this point in the season.
Spencer dominated in the Dual score with 122 points to the Golden Bears 33.
